A Growing Stars Day
A typical day at Growing Stars Nursery starts at 8am when our nursery staff will greet you and your children as you arrive!
Our team will then encourage the children to select a favourite activity or area of play that they particularly like, as we believe that this free choice play session helps them settle into the day ahead.
From 9am
The nursery team will engage the children in an adult-led activity session which will include a range of activities designed to enable them to play, explore, discover and grow. All sessions that are planned by the staff consider the individual interests and needs of the children in mind, are in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and are designed to support their physical, personal, social, emotional and educational development.
At roughly 9.15am our rolling snack time begins, where the kids can enjoy their morning snacks and drinks in comfort in the company of our nursery staff.
The children will then enjoy a free choice play session and garden playtime from around 10am, followed by storytime and song time before we take time for lunch at 11.15am. We place great importance on eating together, talking about healthy eating and making lunch an enjoyable and relaxing time for everyone.
From 12noon
At 12noon we say goodbye to our morning only children and welcome our afternoon arrivals.
All the children enjoy free choice play until 1pm when we engage them in an adult-led activity and outdoor play. Outdoor learning is an important part of our development plan at Growing Stars and we are fortunate to have a large garden with a covered area that allows for all-weather play and activities!
Our afternoon snack time begins at 2pm and is followed by a free play period, where the children can choose the activities and play areas they wish to use, both indoors and outdoors.
As the afternoon moves on we enjoy a session of stories and rhymes and a musical singing session which brings us to 4pm, when we say hello to our parents and prepare the children for home time.
