Apprentice

We're thrilled to be offering a paid apprenticeship role, where you will become part of a warm and welcoming team!

🕑 Apprentice role, 40 hours per week, at our fantastic nurseries Harrow 📍

Requirements:

✅ GCSE's grade 4-9 / C- A* or equivalent in English and maths are desired but not essential

✅ Excellent communication skills

✅ Strong organisational and time-management skills

✅ A patient disposition and ability to use your own initiative.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

➡ Supporting staff members with planning and carrying out activities

➡ Ensuring that the individual needs and interests of the children and families in our nursery are met

➡ Supporting all staff and engaging in a positive staff team

➡ Developing and maintaining a partnership with parents/carers

➡ Ensuring the provision of a high-quality environment that meets the needs of each individual child, while having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures, and medical histories.

➡ Flexibility within working practices of the setting, undertaking other duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.

Nursery Manager at GSN Canons Park

Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and driven Nursery Manager to join the Growing Stars Nursery team at our Canons Park Location. As we transition from term-time to an all-year-round service, this is a fantastic time to get on board and play a pivotal role in our journey. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring high-quality care and education for the children in our care, and leading our team in line with the Growing Stars ethos and environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring that all policies, procedures, and EYFS standards are met.

- Lead, motivate, and support a team of early years practitioners to deliver high-quality childcare.

- Create and maintain a positive, caring, and stimulating environment for children, fostering their development and well-being.

- Ensure smooth transition from term-time operations to year-round service.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers, ensuring open and effective communication.

- Manage nursery staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including health and safety, safeguarding, and staff qualifications.

- Lead regular staff meetings, ensuring continuous professional development and a motivated team.

- Monitor children's progress and development, ensuring that individual needs are met.

- Work closely with the senior management team to achieve key performance targets.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nursery Manager or in a leadership role within early years.

- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.

- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills.

- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety procedures, and early childhood education standards.

Compliance Requirements:

- Enhanced DBS check.

- Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to undertake).

- Safeguarding training.

Deputy Manager at GSN Harrow Weald

Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and driven Deputy Nursery Manager to join the Growing Stars Nursery team at our Harrow Weald Location. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help oversee the daily operations of the nursery, ensure high-quality care and education for all children, and support the staff team in delivering the Growing Stars ethos and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring all policies, procedures, and EYFS standards are consistently met.

- Lead, motivate, and support the team of early years practitioners to deliver outstanding childcare and education.

- Act as the Nursery Manager in their absence, ensuring the smooth operation of the nursery.

- Help create and maintain a positive, caring, and stimulating environment that promotes children's learning, development, and well-being.

- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers, promoting open and effective communication.

- Assist with staff supervision, recruitment, induction, training, and performance management.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safeguarding, health and safety, and staff qualification standards.

- Support and contribute to regular staff meetings, encouraging continuous professional development and team engagement.

- Monitor children's progress and development, ensuring individual needs are identified and appropriately supported.

- Work collaboratively with the Nursery Manager and senior leadership team to achieve operational and quality targets.

- Lead on specific nursery projects and areas of responsibility as delegated by the Nursery Manager.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior early years role.

- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent

- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety procedures, and early childhood education standards.

- Ability to work collaboratively while demonstrating initiative and leadership when required.

Compliance Requirements:

- Enhanced DBS check.

- Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to undertake).

- Safeguarding training.
